FAQS
Your Questions Answered
DO YOU PROVIDE TELEMENTAL HEALTH?
Telemental health services are available for clients living in New Jersey who are deemed appropriate for video-based services after consultation and screening with the provider.
ARE YOU ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS?
Yes! TCC is accepting clients seeking counseling, art therapy, and clinical supervision for art therapy.
DOES TCC ACCEPT INSURANCE?
I am an out-of-network provider. It is recommended that you, or a responsible parent/guardian, contact your health insurance company to request an explanation of out-of-network benefits for outpatient behavioral health services. If your insurance carrier provides out-of-network behavioral health coverage, I can provide you with the documents needed to submit a claim for reimbursement.
IF I AM INTERESTED, WHAT SHOULD I DO FIRST?
A free telephone consultation will be scheduled prior to the first session. The telephone consultation allows the provider to gather some initial information, and it provides the client with an opportunity to ask some initial questions. During the phone consultation, the provider and the client consult each other to make sure the proceeding relationship is a good fit.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE FIRST SESSION?
During the first session the client can expect:
A 50 minute session
A brief introduction and overview on who the provider is and what she does
A review of the providers professional disclosure statement and informed consent
Information gathering
A discussion regarding goals for counseling, art therapy, or supervision
HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?
A single counseling, art therapy, or clinical supervision session is 50-minutes.
CAN I DO BOTH COUNSELING AND ART THERAPY?
Yes! Sometimes there is no shortage of words to describe how one is thinking and feeling, and sometimes words are not enough. The integration of counseling and art therapy is a specialty at TCC; however, you as the client have complete freedom and flexibility to determine your preference for verbal and/or visual expression.
CAN I PARTICIPATE IN ART THERAPY EVEN THOUGH I AM NOT AN ARTIST?
Absolutely! In art therapy the process of art making is just as important, if not more important, than the art product. Artistic experience and/or skill is not required.
